Witham is situated in the middle of Essex with good public transport links and therefore is within easy reach of the wealth of visitor attractions that Essex has to offer. Whether it is somewhere to take the children or a day out for the adults, call in and collect some of the leaflets that are available. We also have a selection of visitor guides from around the Country, featuring accommodation and places to visit.

We are pleased to be the local agents for the following companies: -
National Express - enabling you to book coach travel around the Country, as well as their Eurolines services into Europe.
First Buses - selling Zone Cards and Season Tickets for the local services, along with providing fare and timetable information.
Ticketmaster - offering a booking facility for Concerts, West End and Regional Theatres and some Sports Events - call in and pick up a monthly Entertainment Guide.

Travel Information

General
Witham is adjacent to the A12 and on the main railway line to London and the East Anglian Coast. It is a pleasant residential and local shopping town, strategically located between Chelmsford and Colchester to the West and East, and Braintree and Maldon to the North and South. In addition, because of its proximity to London and Harwich/Felixstowe it is an ideal location for modern industrial and commercial development providing direct routes to the markets around London and giving access to Europe. With the opening of the new A120, Witham is now approximately 30 minutes from Stansted Airport.

Bus and Coach Services
Various local and long distance services are operated in the Witham area. For instance, there are regular buses serving Braintree, Chelmsford, Colchester and Maldon, as well as coaches to Victoria Coach Station in central London. Coach tour companies use the same pick up point (by the old Post Office) for organised holidays in the UK and abroad.

Railways
Trains are generally every ten minutes to London (Liverpool Street Station) during the morning and evening peak times. Fast trains complete the journey in about 45 minutes.
During off-peak times and on Saturdays and Sundays there is a basic service of three trains per hour to Liverpool Street Station reducing in the evening to two per hour. Except for one or two peak hour services, all trains serve the county town of Chelmsford.
Witham Station serves trains to Clacton and Harwich on the East Coast and to Ipswich and Norwich in East Anglia, which may necessitate a change at Colchester. There is a branch line from Witham to Braintree with an hourly service.
