Weston / Hildesheim Youth Exchange
The Youth Exchange has been running for over 30 years as an exchange
between our two twinned towns, Weston and the young people of Hildesheim
in Germany come to visit Weston in the Spring and stay with local
families and in return a group of young Weston people visit and
stay in Hildesheim in the Autumn, this tradition is still continuing
today and any young person aged between 12 years to 17 years who
is interested is very welcome to join us.
Its roots go back to the Second World War, when P.O.Ws were here
in Weston and a friendship grew between the P.O.Ws and the Westonians
and when the war was over, this friendship continued and years later
it was decided that the two towns would be twinned.
If you would like any further information about the exchange please
do not hesitate to contact Susan Harding on 01934 628141.
