The Town Council would like to welcome you to the County Town and
hopes that you will find this guide both interesting and informative.
Should you require further information please call into the Town
Council Offices, the Information Centre, library or visit our website

Museum in the Shires Shopping Centre.
Trowbridge has much to offer whether you are a visitor or resident.
The town is major shopping centre for West Wiltshire with major
shopping developments and large supermarkets as well as many specialist
local shops.
Its frequent rail and bus links to other towns and cities in Wiltshire
and Wessex are complemented by good car parking within close proximity
to the town centre.
Increasingly Trowbridge is seen as an excellent tourist centre with
many fine buildings and a wealth of industrial heritage. It is also
a superb base to explore the varied and fascinating local and regional
surroundings including the intriguing prehistoric remains of Stonehenge
and Avebury.
The town also has a strong economic foundation in both the manufacturing
and service industries, with nationally known companies such as
Virgin Mobile based in the town.
The Town Council works closely with the principal local authority,
Wiltshire County Council which is based in Trowbridge. It also works
in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce which represents many
local businesses, to promote the town.
Set to become the largest community in Wiltshire by 2011, the further
re-generation of Trowbridge is being undertaken under the guidance
of ‘Transforming Trowbridge’ project which is supported
by the South West Regional Development Agency and the County and
Town Councils as well as business leaders. The riverside will be
the initial focus of the development.
Trowbridge prides itself on being friendly and dynamic and very
welcoming to visitors. We hope you enjoy your visit to or stay in
Trowbridge and you return to us soon.
