Thetford
is an ancient settlement at the centre of East Anglia on the borders
of Norfolk and Suffolk, at the centre of the natural area known,
today, as the Brecks. Perhaps today Thetford is most well known
for the adjoining Thetford Forest that covers, what was once, open
heathland. For the masses that drive past on the A11, Thetford’s
rich heritage and natural beauty lie undiscovered. Investigate a
little further and you will discover a fascinating history of a
town that continues to evolve and offers a pleasant place in which
to live, work and relax. Within easy reach of all the major towns
and cities in East Anglia, its location lends itself as a place
to do business.
This town guide has been prepared to give a flavour of this historic
settlement and to allow visitors to enjoy their stay and to learn
more about this unique place, which we call home. It has been produced
through the generosity of the advertisers contained herein and we
hope you will in turn support them.
