Easter Fair ScurryEaster Bank Holiday Weekend

Thame Country Fair - the scurry ponies might look cute but their high-speed racing proves that they’re more than just a pretty pet. And Simon Pakefield’s ferrets are dab hands at catching rabbits. Carnival - the theme for the 2010 Carnival was ‘Greening Thame’. Thame’s Mayor and MP 10K Runbattle it out in the egg and spoon race.
Thame 10km Road Race and Children’s Fun Run - the race is usually held on the last Sunday in June. The race starts and finishes on the playing fields of Lord Williams’s School by Thame Leisure Centre, with runners getting a great view of Thame’s wide market high street, before heading out to Towersey and back along the traffic-free Phoenix Trail. Most people watch at the start/finish by Thame Leisure Centre but the main High Street is a great location as well.
Thame Arts & Literature Festival - the 2010 Inaugural Festival was a huge success, attracting authors such as Phyllida Law, Colin Dexter, Alison Weir and John Sutherland. 1,400 tickets were sold for more than 30 events, including workshops, musicals, literary walks and art exhibitions. It was during one of the guided walks that Henry VIII and his mistress Ann Boleyn strolled by, just as they did in 1530, with Henry’s wife, the unhappy Catherine of Aragon, lurking in the background. www.talfestival.org

FundayLighthouse Thame - The first week of the school holidays and its Lighthouse time! For a whole week, 200 volunteers from 17 churches in Thame and the surrounding villages, attract about 700 youngsters each day.
With a high-energy programme of music, singing, dance, sport, craft and lots more, Lighthouse is the talk of Thame and for the “Lighthouse Children” it’s the ONLY place to be! Check out the website www.lighthousethame.org.uk
Thame Market Fun Day - local groups and charities are invited along to promote themselves free of charge, and jugglers, stilt walkers and face painters add to the happy throng.
Oxfordshire County & Thame Show - England’s Greatest Agricultural Show - the last Saturday in July.

Thame with the Bicester Summer Sheep Fair - up to 20,000 breeding sheep from all over the UK enter this annual event, making it the biggest one day sale in the country.
Towersey Festival - “The Greatest Event of the Summer” with dance, music, comedy, puppetry, circus workshops, 100’s of stalls, world food fair, real ale bar and something simply MFood Festivalagical!”

Thame Food Festival brings the heart of Thame alive with market stalls overflowing with fresh local produce, cookery workshops and demonstrations, local beer tasting and street entertainment. Stones Close Allotments Open Day - visit the largest allotments site in Oxfordshire.

September and October

Thame Fairs The Thame and Oxfordshire County Show dates back more than 130 years, and has always been accompanied by a fair which takes place in the middle of the town. Although the Show has recently moved to a date in July, the fair continues to thrill residents and visitors alike. A smaller ‘Charter’ fair comes to the town in October.

November

Thame FairsRemembrance Day - the people of Thame have always shown strong support for our armed forces, especially on that important date every year in November. In recent years, with the country’s involvement in conflicts in the Middle East, there has been a further increase in numbers at this deeply moving occasion.
Thame’s Got Talent Last year’s Thame’s Got Talent attracted over 70 performers, Bucks TV and a mobile recording studio. All proceeds went to charity.

December

Christmas Event Thame leads the way in celebrating the run-up to Christmas with an exciting evening of fun and entertainment at the beginning of December.
Senior Citizens Tea Party - approximately 80 residents usually attend this very popular event organised by Town Councillors.
