Uniquely sited within the boundaries of the town, the Cuttle Brook
Nature Reserve is just five minutes walk from Thame’s High
Street. The reserve offers 27 acres of varied habitat criss-crossed
with paths and there are opportunities to bird-watch, survey plants
and wildlife, ramble, picnic, jog and walk the dog.
With seven entrances, the reserve is situated on the west side of
Thame, near Southern Road Recreation Ground.
Cuttle Brook is owned and managed by Thame Town Council, with the
Cuttle Brook volunteers carrying out much of the practical work.
The volunteers meet on a monthly basis to share hands-on tasks such
as mowing paths, building or maintaining boardwalks, laying hedges,
protecting reed beds, tree planting, pollarding, pond digging -
whatever needs doing. Physical but fun!
Enjoy Cuttle Brook’s beauty, variety and peace.
Cuttle Brook gained Local Nature Reserve status in 1994..
