Risborough Area Community Action brings together, in partnership,
local volunteers who invest time and effort for the common good
alongside representatives of governmental and non-governmental organisations
at local, district, county and regional levels.
It aims to meet the aspirations of the people of the Risboroughs
and adjacent parishes, their values and challenges and the trends
that map them. Following a Market Town Health check in 2005, RACA
completed a £90,000 Visitor Project in 2008 and participated
in the Risborough 2035 and other studies which provide a framework
for the future development of the area. Further consultation produced
a current work programme which provides additional
interests and opportunities for participation by residents and visitors
alike. These include a Walking Weekend, the Kop Hill Climb, a Community
Bus and Town Centre Project. The leaders of each project group sit
with other representatives on a steering group that facilitates,
coordinates and undertakes the funding of projects.
Details of RACA and its current work programme are available at
www.risboroughaction.org or the Area Information Office and Library
in Princes Risborough.
If you or your organisation would like to be involved please contact
Peter Keen, RACA's chairperson via the Area Information Office,
