
The Town hosts facilities for young people, including a Youth
Facility at Love Lane, with skateboarding facilities (mini half-pipe)
close by. Additionally young people are welcomed into all adult
activities in the Town. A comprehensive Youth Activity Directory,
which has been compiled by the efforts of a local Police Officer,
is available at the Library in The Square.
The King’s Arms
The King’s Arms Youth Project is situated on the first floor
in a building behind the Red Lion in the Festival Hall car park.
In this 2000 sq. metre space, the young people of the Town have
fashioned a place of their own with a non-alcoholic “pub”
equipped with pool tables, table-football, bar games, computer consoles,
library and T.V. the centre also has a craft room, committee room
and advice area, besides a well equipped cyber café and a
kitchen providing cold
snacks.

Mondays 5.30pm - 7.00pm Eight to Ten year olds
Tuesdays 7.00pm - 9.00pm Girls Eleven to Sixteen year olds
Wednesdays 7.00pm - 9.00pm Eleven to Thirteen year olds
Thursdays 7.00pm - 9.00pm Fourteen year olds
Fridays 7.00pm - 9.30pm Fifteen year olds and above
Sunday 11.00am - 1.00pm Christian youth worship
A teenager’s after school club operates every school day between
3.15pm and 5.15pm.
The King’s Arms are dependent on volunteers coming forward
for the work that this local charity undertakes. Volunteers are

Air Training Corps
The Air Training Corps (1927 Squadron) is one of the Town’s
strongest youth organisations in that it is open to young men and
women. It operates from new headquarters to the west of the
Town on Bell Hill recreation ground and is honoured by being represented
at squadron strength. The squadron takes an important part in the
Remembrance Day parade in November.
There is a full programme of adventurous activities to be pursued
by youngsters ranging from the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme to
gliding.
You Can Do Almost Anything!
With the details of over 70 Petersfield activities available on
the first floor of the Library at its information desk, it seems
that you can do almost anything in Petersfield from studying Town
archives, enjoying photography/philately or by becoming a member
of the Phoenix Stitchers.
