The
Association handles the ‘day-to-day’ management of the
town’s three statutory allotment sites.
If you are keen to ‘grow your own’, contact the Allotment
Manager on 01892 833571.
The annual plot rent is £11 (£5.50 for Senior citizens).
The Association also runs a Mutual Trading Scheme, offering members
a wide range of gardening items at attractive prices. The Trading
Store opens from 10.00am to 11.30am at the Ringden Avenue Allotment
Site on Sunday mornings. Annual subscription is £3.25 (£2.25
for Senior Citizens).
We are a small, friendly Club affiliated to the National Association
of Flower Arranging Societies and our members span a wide age-range
and share an enjoyment of flowers even if we are not all accomplished
flower arrangers.
The Club has a varied programme of demonstrations by visiting flower
arrangers, talks on topics allied to gardening and flower arranging,
workshops and practical sessions. The meetings include a raffle
of the flower arrangements if we have had a demonstration and/or
other items, a Sales Table selling a variety of flower arranging
“bits and pieces” at less than retail price, as well
as refreshments of tea or coffee and biscuits for a small charge.
Meetings are held at the Day Centre, Commercial Road, Paddock Wood
on the fourth Thursday of each month except November when the Club
holds its Christmas meeting which is usually held in the School
Hall of Paddock Wood Primary School. (There is no Club meeting in
December.) Meetings commence at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm).
New members and visitors are always welcome.
Membership: £20 per year
Visitor: £4 per meeting (£3 if it is not a demonstration)
For further information about the Club please ring Maureen Howard
on 01892 832576 or Barbara Norman on 01892 835160
