Paddock Wood Athletic Club was founded in 1986 and has grown to become one of the most successful and probably the friendliest athletic club in Kent. With a membership of over 200 from 8 years old up to veterans of 80 plus we compete in all aspects of athletics - track and field events, road races, cross country races and Sportshall Athletics. We cater for all abilities and also enjoy a good social side as well.

Over the years we have seen club members represent Kent and also become County Champions in various events and age groups. Our league teams perform well against stiff opposition from clubs in Kent, London and the Southern Counties.

We hold training sessions twice a week at Mascalls School and our plans for the future include a new training track at Putlands Sports and Leisure Centre. Planning permission has already been granted for the training track.

We have great links with locals schools and we host the longest running Startrack event in the UK (already held 18 years running) every August with over 150 children involved in trying out all athletic events at Mascalls School and we assist at various local events such as Fun Runs and Carnivals.

Each spring we organise the biggest road race in Kent with over 2,000 runners participating. The Brooks Paddock Wood Half Marathon runs through the hop fields of Kent starting and finishing in Paddock Wood. Also the Joe Cartwright Fun Run over 1 1⁄4 miles takes place on the same day in the town and regularly has over 200 entrants of all ages.

We are very welcoming to new members of all ages and all abilities. If you fancy joining in our activities please come along to Mascalls School any Tuesday or Thursday evening at 6.30pm and ask for our Mick Duffin or Richard Elliott. You will get a months membership free before committing any money.
