Major Events in New Mills

A number of annual events attract thousands of townspeople and visitors.
High Lee Park is the venue for two major events, the One World Festival in June, celebrating a peaceful and sustainable environment, and the Bonfire and firework display in November.

The New Mills Parade and Fete has a carnival parade of floats around the town in June and the New Mills Festival has a fortnight of Arts events in September ending with a spectacular lantern parade through the Torrs the finale of which is a firework display.

The New Mills Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society owns the Art Theatre where it puts on major productions.

December sees the town’s christmas light switch on, which takes place at the Town Hall, with a street fair on Market Street.
