March
is located just off the A47 Norwich to Birmingham trunk road that
connects East Anglia and the Midlands. This route also gives access
to the A1 and the motorway network at Peterborough, 20 miles to
the west, that provides access to the Midlands and the West Country
as well as routes to the North. Stansted Airport and London can
be reached via the M11 at Cambridge 28 miles south of March.
The town is served well by local bus services. By rail there is
ready access to all major cities and towns. Currently ‘One
Railway’ provides a good cross-country service to Norwich
and Birmingham with other services on route going to Sheffield,
Manchester and Liverpool. Connections can be made at Peterborough
with the East Coast Mainline between London and Edinburgh and journeys
to London, Liverpool St and Kings Cross, may also be made from Cambridge.
The town is served by a direct service from Peterborough to London
Stansted Airport.
