March is well equipped for sporting activities. On the outskirts
of the town in Grange Road there is a nine-hole
golf course with excellent greens and fairways,
a driving range and restaurant.
The March Athletics Club
meets at the Elm Road Sports Club every Tuesday and Thursday evening
at 6.15pm. They organise and take part in many local and national
events including road races, relays and cross-country; contact Peter

March Cricket Club
has both senior and junior sections including girls. The premises
are also used for hockey, squash rackets, bowls and social activities;

Bowls is also played
at the Conservative Club in Creek Road, the GER Club in Robingoodfellows
Lane and at the BRAZA Club in Elm Road.
March Town Football Club
plays at their ground in Robingoodfellows lane and competes in the
Ridgeon’s League. March Rangers
Youth Football Club provides opportunities for both
girls and boys. They train at the Elm Road sports field and are

Badminton is played
at the Neale-Wade Sports Centre, Wimblington Road; contact 01354

The George Campbell Leisure Centre,
in City Road, is run by Fenland District Council and offers a variety
of activities. As well as the swimming pool they offer a fully equipped
gym, fitness classes, sauna and steam rooms, children’s holiday
activities and birthday parties, together with crèche facilities.
They are now participating in the ‘MoreActive4Life’
campaign run by the Fitness Industry and the Department for Health;

March Marlins are
registered with the Amateur Swimming Association and aim to teach
and coach both children and adults to swim competitively; contact

Town Hockey Club has both senior and mixed teams
competing in the Eastern Divisions. Matches are played at the Neale-Wade
School on an Astroturf pitch. The club also has a thriving junior

March Bears Rugby Union Football Club
has senior and junior sections affiliated to the Eastern Counties
Rugby Union. Training is on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm. Mini and
junior sections (8 - 19 years) for both youths and ladies train

The Snooker Club can

The town has a popular Vintage Cycle
Club that takes part in activities locally and further

A skateboard and BMX
facility was introduced to the town park in 2003 and is very popular
with the youth of the town.
