Leighton Linslade: Business

For well over 1,000 years Leighton Buzzard has been a centre for business and commerce for the locality and is home to a world renowned sand industry.

Waterborne Walk Strategically placed in south-west Bedfordshire, Leighton-Linslade is an ideal place to establish and develop your business. Transport links are excellent, with easy access to the M1 motorway and the A5 and A41 major trunk roads. One of the UK’s busiest international airports, London Luton Airport is just 12 miles away.

The local plan for the area includes over 40 acres designated for industrial, commercial and warehouse use, all of which benefit from easy access to the town’s bypass

Industrial and business areas are located primarily on the south and west sides of Leighton, with a growing labour market to support them.

Leighton Buzzard station, situated in Station Approach, Linslade, is managed by London Midland. The local service provides trains to stations between London Euston, Milton Keynes, Northampton and Birmingham. Connections can also be made at Milton Keynes with Virgin West Coast Services to Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, Wolverhampton and Holyhead.

High Street Businesses from a variety of sectors have chosen to take advantage of the town’s excellent location, quality of life and business-friendly environment.

Leighton-Linslade has a busy town centre with established high street names and quality independent shops. It also offers a variety of restaurants and dining experiences to suit all tastes and budgets.

The boundaries of the town centre extend beyond the High Street along West Street and Leighton Road to embrace part of Linslade. This ‘extended’ centre has a number of functions beside retail. It is a place where people come to work, to meet and socialise and to be entertained. It is also where people live.

The town centre has successfully evolved to strike a balance between its various functions, whilst meeting the changing needs of residents and visitors.
