Foreword

Foreword

This Town Guide has been put together by the Newsletter Editorial Group of Huntingdon Town Council, in conjunction with Local Authority Publishing.
Town Hall
Thanks go to the many contributors, without whose support publication would not have been possible.

Special thanks go to Officers at Huntingdonshire District Council and Cambridgeshire County Council for information provided and in particular the County Records Office for contributions about Huntingdon’s history; The Town Centre Manager and the Huntingdon & Godmanchester Twinning Association. Thanks also to Geoff Soden of Paramotors UK for the aerial photography.

This guide has been produced with both residents and visitors to Huntingdon in mind and is intended to inform the reader about Huntingdon today, the town’s history and development and about future plans for the town.

Huntingdon Town Council prides itself as an organisation well placed to serve local needs and encourage local networking and community cohesion as a means of improving the quality of life locally for everyone. We hope this Guide contributes to the achievement of that aim.

Karen Cameron

Deputy Town Clerk
