Leisure opportunities in Horsham District

One of the ways in which Horsham District Council strives to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors is through the provision, development and enabling of a broad range of leisure opportunities around the District, including sports and active recreation activities, arts and heritage and tourism services.

Sports and Active Recreation

Offering a vast choice of activities to help everyone maintain a healthy and active lifestyle, there are many open air facilities such as tennis courts and recreation grounds in the District as well as a number of sports and leisure facilities including: The Pavilions In The Park leisure complex in Horsham with indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre, and Steyning Leisure Centre, which has a 25m swimming pool - as well as the Weald Recreation Centre, Forest Recreation Centre, Rookwood Golf Course, and Horsham Indoor Bowls Centre. Billingshurst is due to see a brand new public swimming pool built by the summer of 2008.

An outreach service called ‘Horsham Leisure Link’ offers a partnership approach to sport, art and recreation development, working with local community groups to create new leisure opportunities for residents in rural areas.
