For people seeking peace, tranquillity or relaxation there are excellent country parks to visit in the area.

Amwell Walkway, Nr Stanstead Abbots
Interesting flowers and wildlife. A Birdwatchers delight!

Hartham Common www.eastherts.gov.uk. Extensive area of open public space set between Port Hill and the River Lea, provides facilities and an ideal place for walks and picnics. The Warren, a woodland walk also overlooks the park. In medieval times, Hartham, a splendid natural amphitheatre, was the scene of tournaments and archery contests.
