Blackstone Stoolball Club. The club, for both juniors and seniors, meets on Sunday evenings from April to September at Woodmancote and Blackstone Playing Field (on the right hand of Blackstone Lane off the A281). Between September and April the club meets at Oathall School, Haywards Heath. There are Tuesday and Thursday games in the Central Sussex League and weekend tournaments. Contact: 01273 493700.

The Fitness League. Ladies, here for you is the Fitness League, the recreational club offering fitness through a programme of toning, stretching, posture training and co-ordination guided by a fully qualified teacher. Celebrating its 15th year in 2007, the League now meets twice weekly. Come to the Henfield Hall during school term time on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and / or Mondays from 6 p.m. to 7.15 p.m. Whatever your age, you are very welcome. Contact: 01273 832724.

Girlguiding in Henfield. There has been a Girl Guide unit in Henfield since 1917, when Olave, Lady Baden Powell became the County Commissioner for Sussex. Now the movement caters for all ages: Rainbow Guides 5 - 7 years old, Brownie Guides 7 - 10 years old, Guides 10 - 14 years old and a senior section. All meetings are held in the "Guide Hut" in Staples Barn Lane. All our members enjoy a wide range of activities both in and out of doors. Our slogan is "Surprise Yourself" and most do when they join us. Camping remains very popular for the guides, and the brownies look forward to sleepovers and pack holidays. If you would like to become a member of any of our units, please ring our waiting list co-ordinator Alice Sayers on 01273 493227, or to discuss any guiding matter ring District Commissioner Jenny Nye on 01273 494162. For women with an interest in guiding there is the Trefoil Guild. Phone Mary Holder on 01273 492351.

Henfield and District Angling Society. Fishermen, fisher-ladies and fisher-children, the one that got away is still there for your line. The River Adur and surrounding waters, with brown trout, sea trout, mullet and numerous coarse fish, await you. Your patience and skill will be rewarded. The age range we cater for is almost as wide as the fish we seek, (from 9 to 90). All are welcome, and the club is active throughout the year for pleasure angling and friendly competition amongst ourselves and with other clubs. There is an annual BBQ on the banks of the Adur and a Christmas ‘get together’ match and meal. Catch us for more information on 01273 494389 and 01903 812115.

Henfield Badminton Club. The club, for all of a reasonable standard of play, meets on Monday evenings from September to April, from 7.30-10 p.m. in the Henfield Hall. The team, a mixed one, is in the Mid Sussex League. Social events include theatre visits, outdoor concerts, BBQs etc. Contact: 01273 494231.

Henfield District Badminton Club. If you are 16 or over and badminton is your game, Henfield Leisure Centre is your venue. Inter club matches and club nights are held each Wednesday evening between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. from September to April. Contact: 01273 491445.

Henfield Bowling Club. The Henfield club’s friendly atmosphere attracts members from the surrounding area, all enjoying excellent tuition and a lively bar. There are mixed players of all ages, enthusiasts all. The venue is by The Daisycroft with six rinks open every day of the week until dusk from May to September for practice or playing in club friendly matches, league, county and national competitions. There are BBQs, dinner dances and a trophy presentation evening. Contact: 01273 491128.

Henfield Cricket Club. Every summer weekend is cricket time on Henfield Common where matches have been played since 1721, making it one of the oldest grounds in the world. The setting is wonderful and Henfield is a great club to play for. Both 1st and 2nd Xls have full fixture cards from late April into September plus Cricket Week and occasional mid-week games. Saturday matches are Sussex Invitation League cricket while Sunday has ‘friendly’ fixtures, usually with clubs not met with in the league. Feeding into the senior teams are the colts aged from 9 to 16, in the charge of accredited coaches. The colts have regular fixtures. Practice facilities are excellent and include an all weather net. The club welcomes both playing and non-playing members; neither age nor skill need preclude you. The pavilion (centrally heated) is well equipped for the social events held throughout the year. Contact: 01273 495838.

Henfield Football Club.
From September to May there is football for girls, boys and ladies as well as the men. New members are all welcome; you do not have to be a wonder star. At 16 they join the men for places in the three teams competing in the West Sussex Leagues. Girls from 9 to 15 play in the Sussex Women and Girls League, joining the women’s section at 16. Children are welcome without the work proviso. The course is open throughout the year although Saturday mornings until noon are set aside for maintenance. There are internal competitions most Sunday mornings, an annual knockout event and about four matches each year against other local clubs. On some evenings during summer, free lessons are given for juniors and adult beginners. A special ladies section is being developed.
