SCHOOLS
Haywards Heath prides itself on having excellent local schools
at all levels. Three state primary schools Harlands, Heyworth and
Northlands Wood and two State aided primary schools, Catholic St
Joseph’s and Church of England St. Wilfrid’s. Two comprehensive
colleges serve the town, Oathall Community College and Warden Park.
St Paul’s Catholic College with its own Sixth Form, which
was in the town for many years has moved to Burgess Hill to a much
bigger site to meet the needs of today. This new building is the
most up to date school in the County, if not the country. The town
now has only one Sixth Form establishment, Haywards Heath College,
in Harlands Road. This serves a large catchment area and is easily
accessible by road and rail. This College has joined with Crawley
College and both are now known as Central Mid Sussex. Both are centres
for excellence for education and training and have between them
a vast range of courses on offer for young and mature students.
ADULT EDUCATION
Adult Education classes continue to grow to keep pace with demand
and many classes are on offer for every age group. All the secondary
schools and the Central Mid Sussex College offer classes and many
of these are based at different venues around the town, including
the Town Hall.
