Trinity Arts Centre
The Trinity Arts centre, formerly the Holy Trinity Church, is now
a regional award-winning centre for the arts. It offers varied entertainment
of dance, drama, music and rhyme supported by a lively film schedule.
The auditorium sports seating for 260 with a full Dolby sound system,
facilities for the disabled, including ramp, and a ‘loop’
system for the hard of hearing.
Gainsborough and District Heritage Association
The Gainsborough and District Heritage Association holds archive
material, historic objects and other memorabilia and ephemera connected
to the town of Gainsborough and the surrounding area. The Association
provide an effective research facility for those who wish to search
family history, work records, Marshall drawings, or just to find
information on the towns past.

Model Railway
The clubrooms in Florence Terrace of the Gainsborough Model Railway
Society houses an extensive ‘O’ gauge Model Railway.
A museum in miniature, which brings to life the ex L.N.E.R. mainline
King’s Cross to Leeds Central of period 1925 to 1955. More
than 0.5 miles of track, dozens of trains and over 120 locomotives
all hand built by members. Four hundred coaches and wagons operating
to a timetable in accordance with real railway practice.

Markets & Shopping
Since Medieval times, Gainsborough has been proud of its traditional
open-air market. The main shopping area now surrounds and extends
from the market square. The town attracts a lively market on Tuesdays
and Saturdays spilling out form Market Square into Silver Street
and Lord Street, offering a wide range of goods, clothes and fresh
produce. The Lincolnshire Farmers Market is on the second Tuesday
of every month.
Small, mainly family run shops and tearooms still provide traditional
personal service expected of a market town. Further shopping facilities
in close proximity to the town centre are available on Trinity Street.
Marshalls Yard a £39million shopping development has opened
in April 2007 to provide a wide range of additional shops, car parking
and peace gardens and is regarded as a superb addition to the existing
facilities within the town and shows the regeneration of Gainsborough
is well underway helping the town to re-establish itself as the
leading Market Town in the area.
Gainsborough Riverside
Once a port, the historic Riverside Area of Gainsborough has been
transformed by a £20 million regeneration project. New flood
defences have been constructed together with a walkway, which, extends
for 1km between Trent Bridge and Whittons Gardens.
A short walk from the town centre and Old Hall, the Riverside Walkway
represents a new leisure resource for residents of Gainsborough
and destination for visitors to North Lincolnshire. Leisure moorings
which have been constructed at Gleadells Wharf enables tourist to
arrive by boat and the arts trail adds a unique dimension to the
area. Visitors in the evening are welcomed by the warm lights of
the two toll houses.
The Riverside also offers a wealth of potential commercial, retail
and office premises as well as live/work accommodation and residential
development opportunities. Today the Riverside is home to a much
acclaimed fine art studio as well as Lincolnshire Training and Enterprise
Council and Gainsborough Chamber of Commerce.
