Although part of the largest college of Further Education in the county, Gainsborough College on Acland Street serves the local community and is firmly established as a first choice provider of learning opportunities for everyone aged 14 plus.

Since 1995 learners have benefited from the college’s smart, comfortable, purpose built campus just 5 minutes from the town centre. There is ample parking and disabled access throughout. Community organi-sations make use of accommodation at the campus and we offer a catering service tailored to suit you - both on and off site.

We specialise in computer training and boast a well equipped IT learning Centre offering open access from Monday through Saturday for beginners and beyond. Vocational training facilities include excellent hair and beauty salons and a motor vehicle workshop. Busy parents can bring their toddlers to the Little Imps Nursery which is open to all the community.

It is our mission to encourage lifelong learning. Although many of our students are school leavers who have come to college to gain the qualifications needed for a chosen career, some are adults who wish to improve their job prospects. Others combine training with work by joining an apprenticeship scheme organised by the college’s training agency.

Coming to college for whatever reason can be a big step. Our expert Guidance counsellors, well-qualified tutors and receptionists are on hand to welcome you and to help you make the right choice. There are often free introductory courses and reduced fees for those in receipt of benefits. The curriculum reflects local needs with courses in Childcare, Health and Social Care, Administration, Computing, Counselling, Teacher Training, Basic and Key Skills and AS subjects.
