Shopping in the Forest of Dean

Whether you choose to spend your time in one of the four market towns of Cinderford, Coleford, Lydney or Newent, or in one of its many delightful outlying villages, the Forest of Dean offers a good range of small and interesting shops.

The District Council works in partnership with the area’s businesses to raise awareness of the excellent retail and commercial opportunities available.

Forest Food Honey Stall Shoppers are rewarded for spending locally through the popular Forest Rewards Card scheme, a loyalty card giving the holder special discounts. The card scheme has over 10,000 members and can be used in approximately 150 businesses. You can get a Forest Rewards Card by visiting the www.firststoplocalshop.co.uk website.

The ‘First Stop Local Shop’ website also features a handy online shopping guide to many of the Forest of Dean businesses and what they sell. Shoppers can search by the type of business that they are looking for or even a product or service. Almost all of the area’s 500+ market town traders are featured, plus a host of quality businesses from the surrounding rural towns and villages.

Wherever you choose to shop in the Forest, you will find ample car parking including facilities for coach parties, superb local produce and surprisingly low prices - the perfect shopping experience!
