The
Town Council has recently taken over Ford Lane Recreation Ground
and Dugdell Close Playground at Tricketts Cross. It has also played
an influential part in providing funding for Ferndown Leisure Centre,
in partnership with East Dorset District Council and Dorset County
Council. This partnership will soon be replaced by a Public Private
Partnership. |

In
addition the council, as Sole Trustee of the King George
V Playing Fields, provides and maintains a range of outdoor
sports facilities including six football pitches, a cricket pitch,
six tennis courts, a bowling green, a children’s play ground,
a skateboard park and the Millennium Park. The KGV Playing Field
is well used and car parking and toilet facilities are all sited

The
Ferndown Leisure Centre Ferndown has one of the premier Leisure Complexes in the County. It has two heated pools, a sports hall, a fully equipped Gymnasium, Squash Courts and a rifle range as well as a power house suite. Outside there is an extensive range of pitches for summer and winter sports and games. There is also a fitness suite with sauna, sunbed and massage rooms. |

The
Leisure Centre is open to all members of the public but operates
a membership scheme which gives priority use of the facilities and
some discounts. There is a fully licensed bar, a coffee bar and
a range of vending machines to provide snacks and refreshments. The Centre provides a comprehensive programme of courses for children and adults, both in and out of the pools. Holiday activities are planned for a range of ages to help keep children entertained and fit during the school holidays. Specialist sessions exist for parent and baby swimming, early risers, 50+ activities, trampoline courses, pool fun sessions, Yoga, Pilates and Belly Dancing. |
