Annual Festival
Perhaps the Council’s longest running success story is the
annual Festival, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2006.
The Town Council took over the Festival in 1976, when it had been
reduced to a one day event. Since then, with the help of a volunteer
committee, local organisations and businesses, it has been built
up into a thriving two weeks of activities which now also embrace
the Elstree Proms and the Elstree Film Evening. Traditional events
are not forgotten - with such popular favourites as the Parade,
Baby Show, Quiz Evening and Families Day.
The Council’s Entertainments Officer Paul Welsh always welcomes
suggestions for new activities. He can be contacted at Fairway Hall
on 020 8207 1382.
