Elstree and Borehamwood Other Activities

Although most of the Town Council’s activities are entertainment-based, we provide a number of other services for the Community.

For a number of years the Council has funded the primary schools swimming programme in order that young people may have an opportunity to learn this life-saving skill.

The Borehamwood Retail Park home to many high street names Two allotment sites are provided - off Furzehill Road and Watling Street - and a number of street seats and notice boards are maintained around the Parish.

In 1986 Fairway Hall was opened. It operates seven days a week to provide an attractive meeting place for local organisations and activities, together with a wide range of private hirings, including wedding receptions, birthday parties and other family occasions. The Council is consulted on all local planning applications and contributes to many other consultative reports.

The Councillors also maintain an involvement in issues of concern or interest to local residents and serve on a number of outside bodies.
