Cycling and Walking in the Wiltshire Downs

If you fancy exploring the peaceful country lanes and spectacular Wiltshire countryside on foot or by bicycle, then you are in luck.

The area around Devizes is excellent walking country, with the Ridgeway, the Wansdyke and Savernake Forest all within easy reach. With almost every step you will enjoy a unique blend of historic and prehistoric landmarks and some of the most beautiful scenery in Britain.

For cyclists there are six special cycle routes of varying lengths in the Wiltshire Downs, as well as a section of the Wiltshire Cycleway. Two of these routes pass through or close to Devizes.
