The Crediton Food Festival

Many Crediton residents are so enthusiastic about the quality of local food, that the last two years have seen a festival in celebration of it, promoted by the Arts Centre with the support Locally produced beefand involvement of dozens of local producers and the Farmers Market. Not only was all kinds of local food for sale but a programme of cookery demonstrations by professionals and some talented amateurs both enthralled and entertained large audiences.

For the last two years the two-day festival has featured the Big Sunday Lunch with an afternoon of entertainment to follow. Participants could bring their own picnic or buy ready-made meals and snacks from stall holders then sit at tables around the square and enjoy a meal in good company with live music by local performers. Plans for 2011 will repeat this popular event in a one-day festival with a return to the two-day festival in 2012.

The photos on this page show some of the stall holders in 2010 with a selection from their products.
