Stanley Park Sports Ground is one of Chippenham Town Council’s
newest facilities and is located to the south east of Chippenham.
The prestigious facility opened to the public on the 26th September
2004 and has provided the local community and even the County with
major additional
playing fields.
This £3 million, environmental friendly 47 acre site is now
established, and proudly boasts 18 first class playing surfaces
ranging from the smallest mini soccer pitch to the largest adult,
and has grown from 20 home teams in 2004 to a massive 65 in 2008,
with a total of 92 different teams and organisations including the
Wiltshire School of Excellence for Girls and the WCFCA, using this
supreme facility over the past year as a home venue or location
for an event. With the growth of the site we have for the past 2
years provided 4 training areas during the winter under floodlights,
growing to 35 teams using this option to date for the 6 month period
where previously they had nowhere suitable to train.
Chippenham Town Council’s Football in the Community scheme
has been running since 2006, and offers quality coaching for between
200-300 children per quarter, offering various sessions and courses
for the ever growing local community. Sessions include Soccer Bambinos,
Football Fun weeks/days, After School Clubs, Advanced Outfield Sessions,
Goalkeeper Training TGS, Birthday Parties, Turn Up and Play Sessions
and the
list is still growing with the FITC scheme now going out into the
community and supporting development areas of the town so to give
all an opportunity to play and keep active. The FITC scheme actively
feeds players into the FA Charter Standard Clubs, FC Chippenham
Youth, Chippenham Town Youth and Chippenham Town Ladies, which is
helping clubs grow and achieve their targets.
Stanley Park aims to provide a friendly, welcoming and safe environment
for sports provision.
