The Chippenham Information Point, situated in the Town Hall, provides
a vital service to the community. Receiving approximately 20,000
enquiries annually, the Town Council aim to ensure a satisfactory
service outcome to each enquiry.
The Town Council strives to deal with the enquiry directly, or to
ensure that a member of the public can speak to the person who can
solve the problem, (whether a member of Town Council staff or of
another authority) directly from the Information Point.
The Chippenham Information Point provides help for those who need
help, regardless of the subject, not necessarily Local Government
issues.
The Town Hall and Information Point received the “Royal seal
of approval” in 2001, when HM The Queen and H.R.H the Duke
of Edinburgh visited Chippenham and signed the Visitors Book. H.R.H
the Princess Royal also signed the Visitors Book during a visit
to the Town Hall in 2002.
eChippenham was launched in September 2005 and has become well established
in the town. Visitors can access the internet FREE of charge and
received FREE training at the Town Hall as part of the eChippenham
initiative, a partnership between Chippenham Town Council, Waste
not Want Not and Westlea Housing Association. Contact Chippenham
Information Point for further details.
