Living and Working in Chapel-en-le-Frith

With several large urban centres within easy reach (Manchester 21 miles,
Sheffield 29 miles, Stockport 14 miles) and with 555 square miles of
the Peak District National Park all around the town, Chapel-en-le-Frith is a favoured place of residence. There is a rail link to Stockport and Manchester and a half-hourly bus service to Manchester airport. Many new homes, including executive housing and affordable homes, have been built in the area in recent years.

Schooling

Schooling is excellent. Chapel-en-le-Frith High School (mixed 11 to 16) occupies brand new premises with first-class resources and facilities, including superb playing fields and shared use of the adjacent leisure centre. Chapel-en-le-Frith C of E (VC) Primary School is one of the largest primary schools in Derbyshire and includes new, purpose-built facilities. There is a further primary school in Dove Hales and an infant school in Combs. Nursery and toddler groups are provided in the parish and adult education classes take place at the High School.
The Buxton Campus of Derby University, which offers both further and higher education, is just 6 miles away.

Chapel-en-le-Frith High School

There is a range of employment opportunities in the area and unemployment is very low. An area between the eastern boundary of the town and the Peak District National Park has been designated for new business and commercial use and includes a large Science Park.

Churches:

there are three Anglican churches, three Methodist churches, a Roman Catholic church and a Congregational church in the local area.
Most of the town is designated as a Conservation Area and generous Heritage Economic Regeneration Scheme (HERS) grants are available for the renovation and restoration of traditional features on commercial and domestic properties in the Conservation Area.

LOCAL ORGANISATIONS:
