In late 2006, following the sale of the privately owned market
site, the Town Council took over the running of the market and moved
it to the town centre. Each Thursday, the market operates at the
top end of Black Bourton Road which is closed to through traffic.
A wide variety of attractive stalls sell clothes, fruit, flowers
and vegetables, tools and gold jewellery. Local charities are also
invited to have stalls free of charge to help with their fund-raising
activities.
