Foreword

Corn ExchangeBury St Edmunds is a picturesque market town that has the perfect combination of great shopping, weekly markets, a breathtaking Cathedral, fascinating Abbey ruins, interesting monuments, galleries and museums, plus a huge range of places to eat and entertainment to enjoy.

It is the main town in the borough of St Edmundsbury and is probably most famous for the ruined Abbey that stands near the town centre. The Town retains a Norman town plan, in which the main streets led to the Abbey precinct.
