There is plenty going on in Burgess Hill for young people. There
are sport and leisure facilities to suit everyone as well as places
to chill out. The best way to find out all the latest information
is to check out the Town Council’s youth website. The address
is www.you-bh.com or follow the link from the Town Council’s
website www.burgesshill.gov.uk
Designed especially for people aged 11 to 20, the site includes
over 100 features on music, performing and other arts, sports clubs
and facilities, youth groups, health, careers, clubs, information
and advice and lots more. There are also links to other websites
providing information and support for young people.
The Youth Information Shop at 18 Church Road provides a wide range
of information and face to face support specifically for young people
and is open Monday – Friday, 1pm-5pm or telephone 01444 243922.
Youth clubs for different age groups are run most evenings at Park
Centre in Park Road, telephone 01444 235560.
As well as a wide range of sports clubs and activities at venues
around the town, there are a number of informal outdoor facilities.
These include a skate park in St John’s Park, a BMX track,
kickabout areas in various parks, and a floodlit all-weather pitch
at Fairfield Recreation Ground with facilities for tennis, basketball,
netball and street hockey.
If you don’t have internet access and want to find out more
about what is available for young people in Burgess Hill pop into
the Help Point at 96 Church Walk or call 01444 247726 and a member
of staff will be very pleased to help.
