Burgess Hill’s town centre offers all the convenience of
excellent shopping facilities right on your doorstep. With plentiful
parking close to the shops and easy access by public transport,
shoppers are attracted to Burgess Hill from far and near. A wide
range of independent shops and high street stores can be found in
Market Place indoor shopping centre, Martlets outdoor shopping centre
and the central thoroughfare of Church Road and pedestrianised Church
Walk.

The town centre offers plenty of shops catering for everyday needs
including food, household and personal care items. You will be sure
to find just the thing for a special occasion at a selection of
specialist jewellery, gift and card shops in the town. Large items
such as electrical goods, carpets and flooring, bedding, bathrooms,
computers and furniture are all available at competitive high street
prices. And you can choose children’s clothes and toys, as
well as clothing and shoes, with help from friendly and knowledgeable
staff. A twice weekly open air market runs every Wednesday and Saturday
in the Martlets pedestrianised area.
On a practical level, you can visit your bank, hire a video, take
out insurance, post your parcels, develop your holiday photos, get
your clothes cleaned, take out a mortgage and book a holiday. Whether
you’re shopping in your lunch break or making a day of it,
you’ll find refreshments aplenty with restaurants, cafes,
takeaways, coffee shops and sandwich bars. And if you feel in need
of a bit of pampering at the end of it all, you can get your hair
cut, your nails done, your tan topped up and even a tattoo –
all in Burgess Hill town centre!
