snvb Volunteer Centre, Market House Courtyard, Brackley 01280 841250
snvb promotes volunteering and supports voluntary groups that work in South Northamptonshire. We can offer advice on starting a group, IT, governance, fundraising, quality, marketing, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation.

Anyone who is looking to volunteer is welcome to drop-in and see us at the Volunteer Centre, Tuesday to Friday or go to www.do-it.org.uk

Brackley Area Volunteer Car Service. This service is managed by snvb. Volunteers using their own cars, take people to essential, usually medical related, appointments. Anyone can use the service if they live in Brackley or the surrounding villages and there is no reasonable alternative way for them to travel. Users must be registered with the service and there is a mileage charge. For further information contact the Volunteer Centre 01280 841099. The service is supported by South Northamptonshire Council, Northamptonshire County Council and Brackley Town Council.

Safe n Sound snvb coordinates the local home safety referral service promoting and providing advice on fire safety, home security and energy efficiency.

The following agencies offer advice sessions in the Volunteer Centres. Banbury Citizens Advice Bureau CAB (drop in) Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9.30 - 12.00.
Home-Start Daventry & South Northants (drop-in) 1st and 3rd Tuesday 9.30 - 12.00.
Working Links (by appointment) 2nd and 4th Tuesday 9.30 - 12.00.
Connexions (drop-in) Tuesday 1.00 - 4.00.
Northampton Welfare Rights Advice (by appointment).
SNC Housing Advice (drop-in) Thursday 9.30 - 12.00.
Northamptonshire NHS Young People (by appointment) Thursday 12.30 - 2.00.

Banbury Citizens Advice Bureau. Brackley: Our Brackley office is based at the Brackley Volunteer Centre, Market House Courtyard. It is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9.30 until 12.00. No appointment is needed.

Our Advice Line is run from the Banbury office and is open during the Banbury CAB opening times - see below.

Home Visits: We may be able to offer a home visit if you are disabled or elderly and unable to visit our offices. Contact us for more information.

We provide help and independent advice and assistance to clients on a wide range of subjects, including consumer issues, debt, housing, employment, welfare benefits and family problems. Our service is free and confidential.

We also need more volunteer advisers to help us meet the demand for our service. We welcome volunteers of all different ages and backgrounds. No previous experience of advice work is needed: full training and support is provided.
