Introducing Brackley

Brackley is a small market town in the south-east of Northamptonshire. It has a good hillside position and is within easy reach of several interesting and larger towns. For example, Banbury (with its famous Cross) is 10 miles west on the A422, Northampton is only 20 miles to the north on the A43 with Oxford a similar distance to the south on the same road; Milton Keynes is 21 miles east on the A422 and Stratford-upon-Avon 30 miles to the west on the same road with Coventry some 37 miles to the north west along the A422 and A423. The M1 and M40 motorways are near enough to be useful but not to cause disturbance. Town Hall

The town is set in pleasant Cotswold type country with the attractive Hazelborough Forest some six miles to the north. A mile beyond is the famous Silverstone Motor Racing circuit and three miles beyond that is the well known Towcester racecourse.
As you will see from this guide, Brackley has had a long and interesting history and is a small and charming town with much to attract both visitors and residents. It is now enhanced by the new eastern, western and southern bypasses.
