By the Water

Boston is an excellent base for boating and fishing. The River Witham runs into Boston, while the tidal Haven meanders through the town, past the Port of Boston and out to the Wash

Fishing - Angling is a popular sport in the Boston area. The inland waterways in the Fens are well known amongst anglers for their bountiful supply of coarse fish. Boston’s waterways in particular are renowned for their big catches of pike, perch and bream.

Boats and Marina

Witham Way Country Park runs alongside the River Witham and has habitats that attract a variety of wildlife and wildflowers. The park is a short walk from the town centre and has paths suitable for walking and cycling, as well as seating and picnic areas. There is access and limited parking off Tattershall Road.

Havenside Nature Reserve is a great place to experience Lincolnshire’s wildlife. There is a superb mix of rough grassland with scrub and brambles, cattle grazed meadows, shallow seasonal ponds, estuary and mud flats

Boston Marina is open to leisure craft and motor cruisers providing moorings with water and electricity hookups, showers a chandler’s shop and a pub. 01205 364420

If you want to relax and let someone else do the hard work, why not take a trip with Maritime Leisure Cruises. They run river cruises from May to September on a Wednesday and a Sunday. Sea trips out to the Wash are also available. 01205 460595
