Shopping and Eating

Boston has a wide and varied range of shops. For those interested in food Boston still has several traditional butchers and bakers. There is a wet fish shop that also sells game birds when in season. Freshly milled flour and oats can be purchased from the shop at the Maud Foster Windmill.

There are several large national chain supermarkets in the town as well as a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The markets are some of the largest in Lincolnshire and sells a wide range of locally grown fruit and vegetables alongside stalls selling clothes, CDs, books, leather goods and many more items. On the third Wednesday of the month a Farmers market is also a worth a visit. Here you can buy locally made cheeses, local beef, ostrich, venison and smoked meat and fish, along side herbs and jams.

If you are interested in buying clothes there is a good range of national retail clothing shops as well as small independent local businesses including a local department store.

Anyone interested in gardening will find a large independent garden centre on the out skirts of town, and plants can be bought at the open-air auction held on the Green in Boston every Wednesday.

For those who do not want to prepare their own food, Boston has a wide range of places to eat. These include Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Indian, Thai, traditional fish and chips, pizza and pub meals. There is also a good selection of tea and coffee shops for a quick snack.
